The Growing Years….

I was born the 4th child of seven of parents who were faithful. We were not the poorest people on the block but by no means were we the richest. My parents worked hard mum at home and at times working a summer job or taking in other’s children my dad often working two jobs to just make ends meet. Our extended family included grandparents, lots of aunts and uncles and too many cousins to count. Everyone knew the “Ward Family.” In the late 60’s my dad bought a poultry farm and we began the adventure of farming as a way to provide for all of us and most often for others. Mother could be heard saying, “one more mouth to feed is just another potato in the pot.” Generosity and hard work was the way of life modeled for us.

July 11, 1969 was the day I will never forget, it is the day I committed my life to Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. From as early as age 3, I desired to know who God was and as the Gospel message was shared with a group of children in a summer vacation Bible school, I committed my heart to a faithful, loving God whom I came to know as “Abba Father.” I have committed my life to serving Him and His purposes since that time.
